Enter Tarzan: Perrella Destroys Grayton in Two

Montreal, Canada, June 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Rising welterweight star Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella of Fort Myers, FL put the welterweight division on notice by scoring a devastating second round stoppage of previously unbeaten Washington, DC native David “Day Day” Grayton Saturday, June 4 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Fighting before a sold out crowd in what many boxing insiders considered an evenly matched fight, both men knew an impressive victory could take their career to the next level. Televised live as part of Premier Boxing Champions' ESPN series, Grayton opened the bout by throwing quick jabs while Perrella countered with hard shots upstairs, connecting with a few that caught his foe's attention.

In the second, Perella scored a flash knockdown following a straight right hand. Moments later, Perrella rocked Grayton with a perfectly time right hook. Sensing that the end could be near as his opponent stumbled around the ring, Perrella connected with another right hook and a hard straight left that put Grayton in serious danger. With Grayton pinned in a corner, Perrella unloaded a plethora of punches until referee Michael Griffin stopped the bout at 2:09.

“I've wanted to fight another undefeated guy for awhile to get the recognition we deserved,” a jubilant Perrella said moments after his victory. “He's a tough competitor but I was the better man tonight. The welterweight division has lions, tigers and bears but I'm Tarzan. I'm the king of the jungle!”

Perrella's record improves to 14-0 with 13 wins by knockout while Grayton falls to 14-1 (10 KO's) following his first defeat.
