OpenJaw Technologies Announces Support for IATA NDC in Latest t-Retail Platform Release

t-Retail Platform Release (16A) delivers dynamic, data-driven retailing through indirect channel using the IATA New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard; now airlines can seamlessly merchandise their full proposition, through both the direct and indirect channels, from a single e-Commerce platform

Dublin, Ireland, June 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Leading online technology partner to the world’s biggest travel brands, OpenJaw Technologies, a TravelSky company, today announced that it has introduced NDC standard messaging to the t-Retail Platform. By adopting the NDC standard, OpenJaw’s airline customers can now better service passengers’ complete travel needs by seamlessly and dynamically retailing their full flight and ancillary propositions, across both the direct and indirect (agent) channels, using a single platform.

Prior to the development of the IATA-led NDC standard, industry-wide distribution limitations had prevented the merchandising of an airline’s complete flight and air ancillary offers to the sales agent and OTA/TMC channel. This resulted in airlines being unable to service the total customer need. The latest t-Retail Platform release enables airlines to effectively merchandise their unique product propositions, including air ancillaries, air ancillary bundles, Branded Fares and Fare Families, across all channels, including web, mobile, B2B, and on-board, together with the agency channels. The t-Retail Platform supports the approved IATA NDC schemas for Shopping, Pricing, Order Creation and Retrieval, Payment and Document Issuance

Benefits of t-Retail Platform NDC messaging standard:

• Single Platform. Maximise the value of a single product catalogue by seamlessly retailing your propositions across all channels from a single platform.
• Dynamic Retailing. Dynamically create and present the same on-brand, content-rich Air Ancillary offers to the direct channels, to travel agents or to OTAs/TMCs that support NDC.
• Data-Driven Merchandising. Collect and use data (including profile information, Loyalty Programme membership, transaction history and digital interaction) to trigger personalisation rules and make the best Offer in response to shopping requests from sales agents or OTAs/TMCs.
• Merchandising and Pricing Rules. The t-Retail Merchandising and Pricing Rules now enable you to directly control all elements of your product proposition across all distribution channels. Supports all pricing models including: differential, promotional and revenue managed pricing.

“By adopting the NDC standard, the t-Retail Platform now enables airlines to better serve their customers,” said Kieron Branagan, Chief Executive Officer, OpenJaw. “It is a tremendous leap forward in terms of meeting the needs of both airlines and their customers.”

As both an IATA Strategic Partner and member of the Passenger Distribution Management Group Working Group, which is comprised of up to 70 participants representing airlines, IT providers, travel agents and other industry stakeholders, OpenJaw actively participates and helps guide the creation of the data exchange standards in the area of airline distribution.

“As members of the IATA Passenger Distribution Management Working Group, OpenJaw has been active in the development of NDC since day one,” said Paul Byrne, Senior Vice President of Development, OpenJaw. “We are delighted to deliver NDC to existing and new customers which will see both airlines and the customers and partners benefit from extending their travel retailing strategy across the indirect channel.”
