YANMAR Gas Heat Pump - City of Adairsville Recognized at Muicipal Gas Authority of Georgia's Annual Member Conference

Adairsville, GA, June 22, 2016 --(PR.com)-- YANMAR America Energy Systems congratulates Steve Smith, Gas System Manager for City of Adairsville, who was recently awarded the 2015 Community Outreach Award by the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia during their annual membership meeting held in St. Simons, Georgia on May 18-20, 2016. Smith received the award in recognition for his contributions to revitalizing downtown Adairsville after the area was devastated by a tornado in 2013.

As part of the revitalization project, Smith was responsible for the remodeling of City Hall, a 5,200 square foot building located in downtown Adairsville. Included in the remodel was a 16-ton heat recovery model YANMAR Gas Heat Pump (GHP) system, which provides simultaneous natural gas powered heating and cooling to multiple zones within the building.

Adairsville’s City Hall is the first government building in the United States operating with YANMAR’s GHP system. The City has already seen tremendous savings from the unit, including reduced electrical consumption leading to cost savings, as well as a reduction in the building’s carbon footprint.

The award was presented by Scott Tolleson, Director of Member Services North & Governmental Affairs with the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia; YANMAR America’s Michael Cheatham was also present to congratulate Steve.
