Operative Experience Expands Team to Drive Growth in the Government Sector

North East, MD, August 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- To prepare for growth and increasing market demand for their high-fidelity human patient simulators for surgical and pre-hospital education, Operative Experience, Inc. (OEI) has expanded its government business development team by adding Jared Akers as Executive Sales Manager, Government & Military.

“Jared understands military and law enforcement training and has earned the respect of his customers and peers,” said Paul Bernal, OEI’s director of global government business development. “With Jared’s past track record of success, I expect him to achieve immediate results and have a vital impact on OEI’s long-term success.”

Akers comes to OEI with more than 20 years experience in the US Navy followed by his most recent career as a Police Officer.

“OEI’s products are incredibly realistic and rugged for the type of training that both the military and civilian tactical teams need,” said Akers. “I’m excited to be back in medical simulation and passionate about giving back to the military and law enforcement the best possible training solution available.”

OEI produces simulators to rapidly train clinicians and students in critical, life-saving trauma skills for emergency obstetrics, tactical trauma training for medics and law enforcement, and operable models for trauma surgeries including damage control laparotomy and emergency thoracotomy.

“Jared and I share the same belief: listen to our customers and transfer their requirements into the best training products in order that some Airman, Soldier or Sailor can save a life,” said Bernal. “It truly is an honor to be working alongside Jared again. We’re blessed at OEI to have such exceptional talent joining the OEI family.”

Akers' appointment is the latest addition to OEI’s team. Following Lou Oberndorf’s strategic investment and appointment as Executive Chairman earlier this year, OEI has added key industry veterans, Jane O’Reilly as Global Vice President of Sales, Carlos Moreno as Chief Technology Officer, and Paul Bernal as Director of Global Government Business Development.

OEI’s founder, Robert Buckman, MD, a surgeon and former professor at the Temple University School of Medicine, developed the OEI technology under a series of SBIR grants from the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command. The DOD is currently one of the primary users of OEI’s simulators.
