OHEL Bais Ezra’s Hillcrest Residence Celebrate 15 Year Anniversary

New York, NY, August 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The residents of OHEL Bais Ezra’s Hillcrest residence recently celebrated their 15th anniversary in a home filled with love, laughter and fun. The Hillcrest ladies live active and thriving lives together, enjoying daily programs, day trips, birthdays, and living fulfilled lives.

When the doors to Hillcrest opened on March 21, 2001, no one could have imagined the innumerable memories, happy occasions and celebrations that would transpire over the next decade and a half.

During the day, the residences attend OHEL Bais Ezra varied and exciting DayHab programs in Brooklyn. They also love to sing, get their nails done, go to movies and bowling. There is so much to do and so little time for all the shopping trips, pottery classes, and Disney on Ice.

Hillcrest celebrated their landmark anniversary on a beautiful summer evening as guests mingled with the residents over a delicious barbecue dinner with salads, baked beans, fruit and cake. Family, community friends, and former staff rounded out the guest list as everyone had a memorable evening. During dinner, a photo montage played, highlighting the many activities and day to day life of the Hillcrest ladies. OHEL was happy to welcome Assemblywoman Nily Rozic and Councilman Rory Lancman to celebrate Hillcrest’s 15th Anniversary.

Councilman Lancman has a warm relationship with OHEL and we are grateful for his continued support. He was impressed by the incredible staff members that were acknowledged for their dedication and hard work. Assemblywoman Nily Rozic once again visited the seven women with developmental disabilities who live at this home in Hillcrest, a residence in her district. She especially enjoyed watching the residents receive their well-earned awards based on their specific talents and strengths at a ceremony after dinner.

Every Hillcrest resident received an award based on their unique individual strengths. Additionally, awards were given to Leah Zelkowtiz, Barry Rosenbloom, Asiya Pinkasova, Rachel Schlam, and Esther Mushieva to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the Hillcrest Residence and OHEL. These outstanding staff members have all been at Hillcrest since the very beginning and are instrumental in what today is a most loving home. OHEL Bais Ezra Area Coordinator Alyse Applebaum conveyed, “It was a truly special evening where the ladies of the Hillcrest Residence along with their families, friends, and staff got together to celebrate the homes 15th anniversary.

“Everyone enjoyed reminiscing over their accomplishments in the home, and how much they have grown with the help of the OHEL Bais Ezra Hillcrest residence.” It was the perfect way to celebrate.
