Sunday Assembly to Launch in Salt Lake City

Secular congregation growing rapidly in Utah.

Salt Lake City, UT, August 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The decline of organized religion in the United States has created a need for modern communities, and Sunday Assembly is filling that void in Salt Lake City. On September 11th, 2016 a dedicated group of volunteers will launch a life celebrating, radically inclusive, secular congregation. The party will kick off at 10:30AM MST at the Falls Event Center in the Trolley Square Mall, and it will continue on every second Sunday of the month.

Live Better – Help Often – Wonder More. These are the principals that define Sunday Assembly Salt Lake City. Over the last year the community has grown through social events, and volunteer opportunities benefiting charities such as Volunteers of America and The Conservancy Project. The highlight of the summer was a Pie & Beer day fundraiser that is guaranteed to become an annual event.

“We’re not a cult, but that’s what we’d say if we were” is a favorite quote attributed to Sunday Assembly’s creators Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans. Founded in London in 2013, Sunday Assembly has grown to over 70 chapters in 8 countries. It is a place where people sing songs, hear inspiring talks, and create community together. The Salt Lake City chapter formed in May of this year, and received 501(c)(3) status in July. For more information, please use contact info below:
