Beauty Company Founder Donating Product Proceeds to Single Parents

Durham, NC, September 22, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Natural beauty brand, Naturally Me, wants to make women feel beautiful and supported. The company started the Single Parents Scholarship in 2013 on the graces of founder Chaundra Smith. It began as a small way to give back to the customers and community that support the business. Smith was able to give away two $250.00 scholarships in 2013 and a $1000.00 scholarship last year, but now she wants to give even more. “My desire is to award as many $1000 scholarships as possible,” Smith says. “$1000 may not seem like much, but to someone who is trying to support a family with only one income, it feels like a million dollars.”

Two dollars from each sale of one of the company’s most coveted products, the All Over Butter, Joyful Feet and Soy Candles, goes toward the scholarship. The prizes are then awarded to a single parent attending Durham Technical Community College located in Durham, NC. This endeavor is rooted in a sense of gratitude according to Smith, who says the institution helped pay for childcare while she attended classes in the evenings. Now she is paying it forward and wants to give others a boost while they work to achieve their own dreams. Smith is currently available to speak more about the scholarship and entrepreneurial responsibility. She can be reached via the contact information listed above.
