Vizient Partners with KIB for Annual Community Day Project

Irving, TX, October 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Vizient, the nation’s largest member-owned health care services company, partnered with Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) on Tuesday, October 11, for an employee volunteer service project at the Lively Pointe Swimming Pool. Co-leaders James Hull and Greg Schretter lead a group of 22 Vizient employees who applied a fresh coat of paint to the pool building as well as the metal fencing surrounding the pool. Working alongside them were four North Lake College Service Learning students, for a total of 26 volunteers and 104 hours of service. The City of Irving Aquatics Department provided supplies and technical guidance for the project, and Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) had a crew on site to video the action and interview participants.

This marks the 14th year for Vizient’s “Community Day,” and the eighth consecutive year that KIB has been a partnering organization in the event. Employees from their Las Colinas headquarters and at regional offices across the country are given time off to participate in a variety of service projects with non-profit organizations in their local communities. Those who chose to be part of the KIB teams have completed projects at several Irving parks, including Senter, Fritz, Running Bear, Northwest and now Lively Pointe.

“The Vizient employee volunteers have really had a positive impact throughout our city,” said KIB Board Member Chuck Kirk. “We encourage the Irving business community to get involved in volunteer service, and there is no better example for them to follow than Vizient and what they have been doing with their Community Day for fourteen years. We are always honored that they continue to choose KIB as one of their partners, and we are already looking forward to working with them again next year.”
