Cal East University Press Plans 12 Fiction Titles in 2017

Los Angeles, CA, October 25, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Cal East University Press will be publishing 12 new fiction titles in the upcoming year, according to Melanie Demko, Editor in Chief of the once primarily academic publishing company based in Los Angeles, CA.

"Our publishing house is taking advantage of an uptick in the market for high quality fiction," Demko said. "We'll begin 2017 with a scintillating horror novel from bestselling author Cole Alpaugh, and then February kicks off with a spy thriller from Anthony Williams. Signing both Alpaugh and Williams was a definite coup for CEUP, and we plan to ride the positive momentum through the year and far into the future."

Alpaugh's 2011 debut novel, "The Bear in a Muddy Tutu," was a national bestseller in Canada - and with his three other previous novels - his work can be found at libraries in more than a dozen countries. He is a former journalist living in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Williams has penned seven previous spy novels, and is a staple on the London espionage/thriller scene. His 2014 screenplay - Subversion - has been optioned for a full-length feature film set to begin production by late next year.

Cal East University Press began publishing literary and academic works in 1928.
