MakeShaper Launches Multiple New Products

North Carolina-based MakeShaper, a 3D filament and supplies company, launches several new products to cap off 2016. New products include an alternative for MakerBot Gen 5 printers, PLA/PHA filament, PETG filament and filament sticks for use in 3D pens.

Raleigh, NC, December 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- MakeShaper, a 3D filament and supply company based in North Carolina, has released several new filament options this month, including a first-to-market alternative for MakerBot Gen 5 printers.

MakeShaper is launching PLA filament spools for use in Makerbot® Gen 5 printers, including the Makerbot® Replicator Mini, Replicator (5th Gen), Replicator z18, Replicator 2 and the new Replicator+. Two spool sizes are available in a dozen colors.

Also released was PLA/PHA filament, a blend of polylactic acid and polyhrdroxyalkanoate. This filament will satisfy consumers looking for a material that prints like PLA but is more durable and less brittle.

The company also released PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) filament. It has the benefits of ABS filaments (e.g., strength, temperature resistance, and durability) with the easy-to-use nature of PLA. The filament has good layer adhesion and produces prints with less warping and shrinking.

Both the PLA/PHA and PETG filaments are 1.75 mm and available in a wide assortment of colors and spool sizes.

Also launched were 2.85 mm ABS and PLA filament sticks for 3D pens. These filament sticks are available in a range of colors.
