CERTON Delivers New State-of-the-Art Radio Frequency Automated Testing Equipment Station to Medical Device Manufacturer

The Radio Frequency Coil Automated Test Equipment (RF-ATE) station is designed to assist healthcare engineering teams in testing complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) components.

Melbourne, FL, December 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- CERTON successfully completed all hardware assembly activities to deliver a production-ready RF-ATE station to the customer. The RF-ATE is designed to assist the engineering team in the proper selection of capacitors in the MRI body coil. The RF-ATE will inject a specific frequency and verify that the response is at or above the defined threshold. Variable capacitors can then be tuned to maximize the response to the target frequency for desired functionality. Toby Grissom, Senior Electrical Engineer at CERTON, stated "Exceptional customer service is always at the forefront of our efforts at CERTON. Attention to detail and intelligent direction resulted in one of the most rugged and advanced ATE stations we’ve ever delivered.”

CERTON also developed the 3T Labview software that runs the ATE, which consists of a 19” by 24U server rack unit mounted on casters for mobility and ease of use around the factory floor. On top of the cabinet there is a 23” Dell Professional, Full HD LED Backlit, 178 degree viewing angle, anti-glare, in-plane switching (IPS) monitor with full adjustability stand and a Keysight Technologies E-Cal module for use in calibrating the network analyzer before each test. Inside the cabinet, there is a rack-mounted Keysight E5061B-235 network analyzer that will be controlled via General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) from a desktop form-factor PC. This PC is mounted on a 3U shelf above the network analyzer and it includes a PCI-e Serial port. Above the network analyzer, there is a keyboard with an integrated touchpad mounted in a 1U slide-out shelf assembly and two Keysight 6633B power supplies connected to the PC via GPIB.
