World renowned acting coach and director Lynette McNeill, best known for her work with some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Adam Sandler, Ellen DeGeneres, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee and Jane Leeves, will be hosting an industry workshop to help actors find out how to prepare to get the part, and what to do once they’ve got it. This will be a working seminar, not just a panel discussion. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 7:30 pm at The Odyssey Theatre.
McNeill teams up with five time Emmy nominated actress Faith Ford (Carpoolers, Hope and Faith, Murphy Brown) actor, producer and director Fred Goss (Carpoolers, Sons and Daughters) and Emmy Winning Casting Director April Webster (Star Trek, CSI, LOST).
McNeill introduces a ground-breaking approach to acting that avoids the questionable and often controversial acting exercises of the past. A student of Stella Adler and Uta Hagen, McNeill was challenged to find a more effective way in which she could train actors and challenge them to be as real as they can on stage and on film - without encouraging an actor to dredge old, painful emotions.
About her new approach to acting Lynette McNeill says: “I want to give actors the opportunity to broaden the level of artistry by helping them find their voice, opening the door to finding the endless possibilities as to what they can create by removing old concepts and false information.”
