Netflix Film "Come Sunday" adds Joni Bovill to the cast.

Los Angeles, CA, December 25, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Joni Bovill has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix film Come Sunday – the true story of Carlton Pearson’s downfall as the leader of a Christian megachurch with his controversial preachings on the doctrine of universal salvation and the lack of existence of a traditional Hell. Chiwetel Ojiofar has been slated to play Carlton Pearson. Others taking on roles include Atlanta’s Lakeith Stanfield, Danny Glover and Condola Rashad.

Bovill will portray Bishop Yvette Flunder, a progressive, Afrocentric San Francisco-based minister that reached out to Pearson after he was ostracized from the Evangelical community.

Bovill recently wrapped on the third season of Amazon Studio’s Bosch in her recurring role as Ida.

John Marston has been tapped to direct. Marston’s known for directing and writing Maria Full of Grace that brought Catalina Sandino Moreno an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Marcus Hinchey wrote the script, based on a 2005 This American Life radio episode called Heretics. Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern is producing with Alissa Shipp and Ira Glass of “This American Life.”

Bovill is repped by Circle Talent and Louisiana Talent Agency.
