City of San Mateo Welcomes Downtown San Mateo’s Largest Mural, Good Life
San Mateo, CA, December 30, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Join Inspire Art Exhibits, City of San Mateo officials, the Downtown San Mateo Association, local neighbors and businesses to officially welcome the first major mural, Good Life, as part of an ongoing capital campaign to bring a stronger public artistic presence to Downtown San Mateo. Mary Doherty, founder and executive director of Inspire Art Exhibits, will present the mural to the City of San Mateo’s Deputy Mayor, Rick Bonilla, who will speak about our beautiful new landmark which residents, visitors, and commuters will enjoy for years to come.

The Good Life mural represents the first in a series of public funded art installations commissioned by Inspire Art Exhibits, Inc. with support from the City of San Mateo, the Downtown San Mateo Association, local businesses, and community members to bring a vibrant mural inspired by the “Good Life” of San Mateo. The mural includes local colors and landmarks of the downtown community that people have enjoyed for generations. The mural was partially funded through a fall fundraising event at Kingfish Restaurant featuring an art auction with original pieces from local artists, and a silent auction, with items donated by local businesses. Other significant financial contributions came from the City of San Mateo, All Bay Valuation, Cullinane and Doherty families, SC Properties, SM First Ave Partners, and United American Bank. The dedication plaque, installed on the south end of the wall, will be presented to these sponsors who are also expected to attend this event.

The Good Life Mural Commemoration event and celebration is free and open to the public. January 5th, 4:00, Downtown San Mateo Train Station.
