New Guide to Passing Certification Exam Earns Top Marks from Publishing Company

A Northwest University professor has earned a literary award from Dog Ear Publishing for a new edition of his book, which is designed to help managers pass the PMI-RMP certification examination.

Puyallup, WA, January 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- It’s not easy to take on new challenges such as professional certification. But managers and professionals interested in obtaining a Risk Management Profession (PMI-RMP) certification have a new tool at their disposal: an award-winning book released by Dog Ear Publishing. The book, now in its second edition, has earned the Dog Ear Publishing Award of Literary Excellence.

“Passing the Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) Certification Exam the First Time!” is designed for project managers and other professionals interested in obtaining PMI-RMP certification and includes activities and practice test questions to help them pass the examination the first time. This second edition has been revised to reflect the latest PMI-RMP testing criteria and includes a 150-question self-test and comprehensive glossary.

Author Daniel C. Yeomans, who has more than 40 years of project management experience and is known as an expert project manager, business analyst, process manager and trainer, was very proud to learn about the award. He said the editor was impressed with the organization of the book and quality of the activities and practice examinations and “felt the book would surely achieve the objective of helping people pass the test.”

“My goal is to write a book that helps people succeed,” he said. “The editor’s opinion that I had hit the mark was both exciting and humbling.”

Dog Ear Publishing’s editorial team determines Award of Literary Excellence winners. The managing editor, editorial services manager and the publisher review its recommendations. Winning books include the award logo on their covers.

Yeomans, an adjunct professor at Northwest University for undergraduate and graduate business programs, focuses on project management, financial management and entrepreneurship. He is also a project manager trainer for Green River College and Bellevue College and serves as an independent consultant for P17 Group in the Seattle area.

The book is a revision of his first book of the same title. “I decided to write the book in 2010 after I passed the PMI-RMP examination,” he said, adding that he has developed hundreds of courses and was asked by Microsoft to develop a course on the Risk Management Professional examination.

“Rather than develop a course, I decided to put the course in book form,” he said. “This version is the second edition. I needed to update the first edition based on the changing nature of the testing requirements.”

Yeomans is most proud that the first edition “received a number of positive reviews from buyers stating that they had indeed passed the examination. Buyer’s success is a great point of pride for me personally,” he said.

The author, who has developed more than 100 specific training offerings for universities and corporations, is used to putting pen to paper. “I have been a course developer for many different subjects over the course of my career. I decided that I should use this experience to write books that mapped to areas where I have passion,” he said.

This is Yeomans’ third book published through Dog Ear. “The editors at Dog Ear did a wonderful job helping me eliminate any weaknesses and capitalize on the book’s strengths,” he said. “Their input was invaluable.”

In the end, Yeomans hopes his book can help people with their professional goals. “I simply hope that anyone who purchases this book enjoys it and is successful,” he said. “Their success equals my pride.”

Yeomans served in the U.S. Air Force, managing numerous multimillion-dollar information technology and infrastructure projects. He was named Air Force Program Manager of the Year in 1985. He has a master’s in business from St. Martin’s University.

He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), as well as a Certified Manager of Quality/Organization Excellent (CMQ/QE), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). He has volunteered with nonprofit organizations such as the Air Force Sergeants Association and is a member of the Project Management Institute and its Puget Sound chapter.
