Dental Seminar Helps Dentists Expand Practice to Special Needs Patients
Phoenix, AZ, February 20, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Maureen Toal, founder of the Center for Dental Rehabilitation and a 25+ year dental industry veteran is pleased to introduce Toal Method™, a continuing education program designed to teach a systematic, safe and predictable approach to incorporating all forms of anesthesia into general dentistry.

The 3-day seminar in Phoenix, Arizona, approved by the Academy of General Dentistry for 24 Continuing Education (CE) credits, focuses on three pillars of proactive dentistry: 1) treating the mouth as an organ system; 2) developing comprehensive treatment plans to minimize patient visits and maximize practice resources; and 3) incorporating oral, intravenous and general anesthesia with intubation for greater predictability, comfort, reduced anxiety and the ability to initiate and complete more procedures in fewer visits.

“My practice has great interest in helping people with a range of special needs – from autism to down syndrome to the non-verbal - 100% of my practice has been built on referrals from my colleagues and patients,” says Dr. Toal who in 1996 opened a one-of-its-kind operating room in her facility that allows the use of all forms of anesthesia. “My father practiced hospital dentistry in St. Louis, Missouri for 55 years,” says Dr. Toal who moved her practice to Arizona in 1990. “I had the opportunity from the beginning of my dental career to see the benefits of anesthesia to those who can’t sit in a traditional dental setting. Over the years, we have helped thousands of patients who normally would not have had access to care, regain their smiles.”

Recent studies indicate that as many as 15% of Americans avoid dental care because of dental anxiety/fear. With the introduction of Toal Method seminars, Dr. Toal will teach her approach to maximizing staff and practice efficiency for better patient care and greater practice profitability. Toal Method will help practitioners to effectively and safely incorporate anesthesia into their practice so they can expand their reach to the millions of individuals who suffer from physical, mental and/or emotional challenges that impede them from receiving proper dental treatment.

“The use of anesthesia is common in all manner of elective surgery such as cosmetic surgery, it is time our industry exhausts the resources available to us to serve a wider population. My practice has experienced year over year growth, not to mention how many patients we have been able to help. I want to help like-minded colleagues create the foundation for their practice.” Designed as an intimate applicable training session, Toal Method is limited to five participants per session with preliminary dates available in March, April and May.
