TestCraft Raises $1MM to Connect Manual Software Testers to Automated DevOps

TestCraft, provider of Continuous Testing SaaS-based solution that allows manual business testers to create test automation without coding, today announced that it has closed a seed funding round of $1,000,000. The company intends to use the proceeds of this round to work with customers to further enhance its solution and to expand its core development team with top talent

Tel Aviv, Israel, February 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Founded and funded by serial software entrepreneurs, TestCraft aims to empower manual business software testers to create test automation without coding and to connect them to the DevOps automation chain. TestCraft allows manual testers to quickly outline test cases on a virtual canvas, which will TestCraft then converts to Selenium scripts and connects to common CI/CD suites and multi-platform testing labs.

The company announced today the closing of a seed funding round of one million dollars from a number of serial software entrepreneurs and industry veterans.

TestCraft was started in 2015 by Yarin Podoler and Daniel Levin, both with an extensive technology background, after realizing the gap between the requirements of agile development and the testing tools available in the market. They were joined by Dr. Ron Rymon as Executive Chairman, and by Dror Todress as CEO. Dr. Rymon has an extensive experience founding and building enterprise software companies: Eurekify (acq. by CA), LetMobile (acq. by LANDESK), and WhiteSource (a leading provider of DevSecOps solutions). Mr. Todress was previously founder and CEO of LetMobile, where he worked with Dr. Rymon.

The company intends to use the proceeds of this round to work with customers to continue building its product and to expand its core development team with top talent.

More than 25 years after the introduction of software test automation (e.g., from Mercury Interactive) only 1% of the companies in a recent Cap Gemini/HPE/Sogeti report claim to not have real difficulties with testing in agile environments, with 41% of companies relying on manual testing. With the advancement of DevOps and agile development methodologies, TestCraft expects to be part of a new wave of tools that will empower software developers and their testing teams. Some of this renewed interest in the space is evidenced by the recent $165MM investment in Tricentis, as well as by a number of new funding and product announcements.
