DataPath Meets with Congressional Leaders at the 36th Annual Employers Council on Flexible Compensation Conference

The healthcare administrative solutions company expressed support for proposed initiatives aimed at making healthcare affordable for TPAs, businesses and consumers.

Little Rock, AR, March 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Representatives of DataPath, a leading innovator in the benefits administration solutions industry, were present in Washington D.C. for the 36th Annual Meeting of the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC), a conference dedicated to the advocacy, education, advancement, and innovation of tax-advantaged benefit programs that facilitate choice for employers and their employees. The two-day conference featured informative sessions on legislative and regulatory updates, including the current push in Congress to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“Technology, market forces and legal requirements are constantly changing. As an ECFC member, DataPath acknowledges the importance of having the best interest of our users in mind and express support for certain acts and bills directly in Congress,” said Greg Licata, Vice President of DataPath. “Because our core business model is centered on developing software solutions to administer employee-sponsored benefits, DataPath has a keen interest in making its voice heard by our highest elected officials.”

On the second day of the conference, DataPath were included in ECFC member groups that went to Capitol Hill to visit the offices of Senators Deb Fischer (R-NE), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Representatives French Hill (R-AR) and Joe Kennedy III (D-MA), among other Congressional leaders. During their visits, DataPath expressed its support for several initiatives in the American Health Care Act (AHCA), including the repeal or delay of the Excise Tax (also known as the Cadillac Tax).

DataPath also supports increasing contribution limits to Health Savings Accounts, removing limits on Flexible Spending Accounts, and making over-the-counter medications part of eligible medical expenses in order to help make healthcare more affordable.
