SleepSafe Drivers® Assembles Unique Panel for the 10th International Conference on Managing Fatigue

Lenexa, KS, March 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The panel assembled to discuss the challenges and advantages of implementing a Fatigue Management Program (FMP) within transportation operations based on the FMCSA, ATRI and other regulatory and industry groups blueprint, found at NAFMP.com

SleepSafe Drivers, one of the nation's leaders in Fatigue Management Programs for the transportation industry and other safety-sensitive jobs, has brought together members of the regulatory, medical, workplace solutions, analytics and insurance captive communities to discuss fatigue and sleep dysfunction and its effect on logistics & supply chain operations. This esteemed group will discuss the challenges and advantages of implementing a Fatigue Management Program within operations at the 10th International Conference on Managing Fatigue in San Diego, March 20-23, 2017.

The "Managing Fatigue" conference series is an established and respected forum for research updates and discussions within the fatigue management community, and is organized by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), based in Blacksburg, VA. Each conference has primarily focused on the effects of fatigue in the transportation sector but has evolved to include other vital parts of the logistics and supply chain, including natural resources, mining, healthcare and the military among others.

“We assembled this group to go beyond the typical conversation of just examining fatigue within the Hours of Service (HOS) discussion. There are many other considerations and challenges with fatigued drivers, and solutions for helping to address these concerns, like technology, health and wellbeing, sleep dysfunction, training, dispatch philosophy and other factors. These and many more elements are part of the North American Fatigue Management Program (NAFMP),” said Steven Garrish, SVP—Safety and Regulatory Compliance, SleepSafe Drivers. “We believe it will be an enlightening look at the current challenges that face logistics and supply chain operations, and provide an introduction into different methods for addressing and mitigating the risks associated with fatigue. Simply following hours of service rules is not enough.”
