WDM United Methodist Early Learning Preschool to Host Health and Safety Superheros Family Night

West Des Moines, IA, April 06, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Children and families will be able to learn about water, weather safety, nutrition and more at the 5th annual Health and Safety Superheros Family Night, sponsored by the Early Childhood Education Committee for the West Des Moines United Methodist Early Learning Preschool.

The free family-friendly event is open to the public and will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4th in the church parking lot, 720 Grand Ave in West Des Moines. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite Superhero Costume. Activities will take place inside the church if weather does not cooperate.

Activities and participants include:

Blank Children’s Hospital’s severe weather safety house, where children can learn what to do in the event of severe weather or a tornado
West Des Moines Fire Department
Fury Friends Rescue
Fareway
HyVee Nutrition RV
Nationwide Make Safe Happen
Cub Scouts

“We are very excited to be hosting the Severe Weather Safety House in again this year,” says Nancy Setchell, Preschool Director. “If only one child in our community is saved from injury or death through having participated in the Severe Weather Safety House training, it will have been worth the effort.”
