MiFo LGBT Film Festival Celebrates Its 19th Anniversary Season

The MiFo LGBT Film Festival (now OUTshine Film Festival) celebrates its 19th anniversary with 28 film premieres; a special Made-in-Miami spotlight; and an exciting opening night honoring two incredibly LGBTQ allies.

Miami, FL, April 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The MiFo LGBT Film Festival (now the OUTshine Film Festival) is gearing up to celebrate its 19th Anniversary season, April 21st thru April 30th. This year's film festival includes two never-before-seen world film premieres; seven North American premieres; six East Coast premieres; and twelve Southeast Premieres.

The MiFo LGBT Film Festival opening night will begin at 8pm at the historic Scottish Rite Temple on the Miami River with the screening of the opening night film, "Handsome Devil," followed by the Official Opening Night Party with filmmakers and talent to kickoff the 10-day event.

On opening night, MiFo will also honor two extraordinary individuals - Carol Coombes and Jaie Laplante - as Angel Award recipients.

The film festival will also have a special Made-in-Miami film screening on Saturday, April 22nd of "A Change of Heart" - directed by Kenny Ortega and produced by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, both of whom will be honored on-stage as Ally Award winners.
