Keep Irving Beautiful Visits Clifton Early Childhood School - Environmental Mascot Skit Performed for Morning and Afternoon Sessions

Irving, TX, April 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) has participated in Clifton Early Childhood School’s Earth Month for the past seven years, and on April 13, they continued that tradition by presenting their environmental mascot skit to the Pre-K children at both the morning and afternoon sessions. KIB staff member Julie Schmitt served as the skit emcee, while Clifton staff members volunteered to wear the costumes of KIB mascot “Kirby” the toucan, “Buddy” the Blue Recycling Bag, and the “Litterbug.” During the presentation, the children learned that Kirby’s name means “Keep Irving Recycling and Beautiful Year-Round,” and that Buddy’s slogan is “Recycle in Blue, It’s What We Do.” They were shown items that are made from recycled materials, such as a jacket made from plastic milk jugs, a cup made from recycled denim, and even a ruler made from retired dollar bills. At the end of the skit, the Litterbug transforms into the “Recycle Bug,” and pledges with the students to never litter, always recycle, and help keep Irving clean and beautiful.

“Clifton has become part of KIB’s Earth Month activities, and we really enjoy coming here,” said Ms. Schmitt. “We feel it is important to start teaching children about taking care of their environment at a young age, so visiting early childhood schools and presenting our message in a fun way is a perfect fit. We’d also like to thank the Clifton staff, not just for inviting us to the school, but also for helping perform the skit.”
