Chesapeake, VA, May 02, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Southeastern Football Officials Association (SEFOA) is actively recruiting new officials for the 2017 football season. The non-profit organization mentors, trains and assigns its members as on-field football officials at the middle and high school levels throughout the South Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

Prospective Officials must have strong moral character and integrity, be fair-minded, have the fortitude to make tough decisions and possess excellent people skills to build rapport and professional relationships with fellow officials, coaches and student-athletes. In recent years, the number of such valuable and vital people to the success of school sports programs has been in decline across the country.

Men and women over the age of 18 who are interested in earning a little extra money, while providing a vital service to the youth sports community, are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 4pm at the Greenbrier Library in Chesapeake, Virginia.

On field training begins May 15th. The deadline to be considered for the 2017 football season is May 31, 2017.

For those who cannot make the meeting, but are interested in becoming an official, more information is available at www.sefoa.net or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sefoafootball
