Georgia Nurses Association Welcomes High School Students for Internship

Snellville, GA, May 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Georgia Nurses Association has decided to make intentional contributions to the up and coming generation. As of May 22nd, 2017, GNA will begin accepting high school seniors for internship (www.GeorgiaNurses.org).

Mr. Marcus Downs, CEO for GNA decided that the organization has much to offer to our young generation as it relates to learning professional hard skills and soft skills. As of May 2017, GNA has partnered with Shiloh High Schools work based learning program.

Shiloh High School is one of the seven academy schools in Gwinnett County and offers four career pathways to the 2,400 student body. The school is recognized for its accomplishments with the work based learning program by successful placement of student with employers and completion of professional certifications such as Microsoft, Project Management and Marketing to highlight a few (www.ShilohHighSchool.org). The program coordinator and Academy Coach of Shiloh High School, Mr. Beau Pezoldt met with Impact Branding Consulting, Inc who facilitated the partnership.

Georgia Nurses Association is the state representing organization for nurses in Georgia and now as a Nurse Licensure Compact state will be advocating support for other licensed nurses. The internship opportunity will offer students real life hands on experience in healthcare administration, political policy and advocacy, member organization management, healthcare education, communications and team work. Currently GNA has two official interns for the summer and will continue accepting interns on rotation.
