Car Show Donates to Local First Responders

Fred Britenstine Memorial Car Show honors namesake’s passion for helping people.

Virden, IL, June 09, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The organizing committee of the Fred Britenstine Memorial Car Show presented a donation of proceeds from the 2016 event, to Brian Williamson with Prairieland Ambulance, to help upgrade their services to Advanced Life Support (ALS). The event, once known as the Virden Car Show, honors the memory and passions of Fred Britenstine, a long time Virden resident, Vietnam Veteran, volunteer firefighter and custom car/hot rod builder and owner.

The 10th Annual Fred Britenstine Memorial Car Show is Saturday, June 17, 2017 with registration between 8 a.m. and Noon. Held on Historic Route 66 in Virden, Illinois, it is a perennial Father’s Day weekend favorite for automobile enthusiasts. Registration is $20 for one standard class (more than 20 available) and includes an event shirt (while supplies last). Additional Classes are $10 and include the 2017 Feature Class 4x4/Off Road. Local vendors and community groups will be on site with goods, services and mouth-watering foods for sale.
