ToxBox®: Plate-Based Tool for Cannabis Testing by LC-MS/MS

Ann Arbor, MI, June 23, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Cayman Chemical, in collaboration with PinPoint Testing, LLC and Biotage, has introduced the ToxBox® THC/THC Metabolite Pack, an all-inclusive tool to detect THC, the primary active constituent in Cannabis, and its main metabolites. ToxBox®, a proprietary brand of products by PinPoint Testing, is a high-throughput solution for detecting multiple analytes in biological samples. The ToxBox® THC/THC Metabolite Pack contains all necessary plates and reagents for sample preparation and detection of Δ9-THC, (±)-11-nor-9-carboxy-Δ9-THC, and (±)-11-hydroxy-Δ9-THC. This provides a new approach to streamlined Cannabis testing by LC-MS/MS with the sensitivity required by forensic and toxicology labs.

The ToxBox® THC/THC Metabolite Pack is designed to be used in a specialized 48-well plate system as a three-step workflow process for increased efficiency and sample throughput. Each pack is supplied with pre-mixed analytical standards in a plate-based format containing a set of calibrators, quality control materials, and internal standards dissolved in a proprietary solution. This system also includes an ISOLUTE® SLE+ supported liquid extraction plate to enable high analyte recovery from biological fluids and blank plates for easy sample handling. Compared to dilute-and-shoot methods, this three-step well-plate format reduces sample preparation labor and obviates potential laboratory dilution and sample preparation errors. Ample well space is available for samples to be run in duplicate or triplicate (depending on sample number) to detect THC levels down to per se statute limits (1.0-5.0 ng). The product contains Certified Reference Materials from ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO Guide 34:2009 labs and can be implemented in existing laboratory methods for quantitation.

The ToxBox® THC/THC Metabolite Pack is available through Cayman Chemical at www.caymanchem.com. PinPoint Testing offers consulting to accelerate analytical method development, validation, and implementation as well as custom ToxBox® products.
