Supplier Relations US Picks Top 5 Manufacturing Industries to Benefit Most from Economic Stimulus Package

Los Angeles, CA, February 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- President Bush signed into law on February 14th, 2008 the economic stimulus package put forth by both houses of Congress. Of the total amount estimated to reach $152 billion this year, $50 billion of it was granted in US business tax savings. These savings can translate to a significant boost in unexpected revenues for certain manufacturing industries. The top five of these manufacturing industries expected to gain from the new law are automobile and truck, computers, fabricated structural products, radio and television broadcasting and wireless communications equipment, and electrical equipment.

In finding out how significant this tax savings is on the bottom line of receiving industries, a quick estimate yielded surprising results. With the Federal corporate income marginal tax rate of at least 34% for taxable income above $75,000, a fully realized $50 billion tax savings equates to expenditures of three times that amount: a whopping $150 billion in business spending on equipment investments. The above listed industries and many more all stand to gain from this sudden spurt in business spending. Last year, these five industries in the US combined for approximate revenue of $430 billion (the top 10 industries reported approximately $560 billion in revenue.) Even a portion of the $150 billion will represent a significant increase.

“Many of the businesses (consumers of these industries) that will benefit from this tax relief don’t yet realize its implications” said Johnny Lee, Chief Analyst of Supplier Relations US. “As they begin to understand the details, they will go out and invest in the necessary equipment to keep them competitive in the market. The intelligent manufacturers and retailers out there who have foreseen this have already made the appropriate moves to meet this new surge of demand. However, it’s still not too late to get ready and increase capacity.”

On their website (http://www.supplierrelations.us/node/692), Supplier Relations has predicted the top manufacturing industries to benefit from the newly signed stimulus package. The list includes the revenues these industries generated in 2007. In addition, the website provides detailed analysis for each industry, including data on supply, demand, capacity, all associated upstream and downstream industries, and capital expenditures.
