Sasol Equips Ethylene Oxide Transports with aJour ATEX Telematics

Tank container for ethylene oxide transports of the Sasol company group equipped with aJour ATEX Compact + Sensor Telematics.

Munich, Germany, August 25, 2017 --(PR.com)-- ASTO Telematics GmbH has received another major contract to equip freight wagons. All new tankers and tank containers for ethylene oxide transports from Sasol Germany GmbH will be equipped; the stock wagons will be retrofitted in the revision cycle. Sasol in Germany is part of the chemicals' division of Sasol Limited. The South African company is an integrated energy and chemicals group and one of the world's largest manufacturers of synthetic fuels. Sasol's freight wagons operating in the German and European rail network will be equipped with the new aJour ATEX Compact + Sensor Telematics. The aJour telematics systems, smart batteries and sensors are supplied with Sasol with ATEX certificate EX Protection zone 1.

The new aJour ATEX telematics units from ASTO Telematics enable Sasol to evaluate the following events: circulation, temperature, impact and quality monitoring. In the event of danger, an automated status transmission of the car and of the loaded substance is sent to the appropriate facilities (for example: the fire brigade) in order to ensure targeted intervention and to avoid damage and costs. Delivery will take place in 2017.
