CoffeeBot Team Donates Blood for Member’s Mother

Davao, Philippines, September 02, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Members of the CoffeeBot team volunteered to donate blood last August 12, 15, and 16, 2017, for the operation of Lemuel Asibal’s mother at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). It was initiated by the team as an expression of support for their fellow colleague.

Lemuel’s mother, Erlinda Asibal, 67 years old, was diagnosed with kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma). She needs seven bags of blood in order to stabilize her vitals, specifically her hemoglobin levels. This was necessary so she can undergo partial nephrectomy or removal of her left kidney where a 13 cm tumor was growing. His mother’s operation was performed on August 16.

Fortunately, some kind-hearted people donated one bag of blood each, namely: Agnes Rivas, Michael John Villar, Wennelle Baldo, Jing Soroño, Jan Robert Chua, Jay Sy, and Michael Richard Cantano. It was a total of seven bags, just enough to stabilize the patient's hemoglobin levels for the operation.

Graceille May Bagotsay and Rene John Manubag, also one of Lemuel’s friends wished to donate as well, but weren’t able to because they didn’t meet the requirements for blood donation.

“It’s nice to help out other people, especially when they are truly in need,” said Michael John Villar, one of the newest additions to the CoffeeBot team.

There were only a few who were qualified to donate in the office so he felt the need to volunteer, and he was more than willing to do so.

According to Agnes Rivas, she was really happy to be able to help a coworker and a friend through her small efforts. Apparently, the two are close friends and go way back around 2008.

CoffeeBot is not simply a BPO company, but a place that is home to a close-knit family who always looks out for one another.

“I'm forever grateful to my friends and officemates for helping me in these trying times, most especially to the blood donors and the entire CoffeeBot family. Our Operations Director Jessica Madrazo and Managing Director Peter Perez made finding the blood donors easier. You guys are a lifesaver. I know this is not enough, but allow me to say this: ‘From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much’,” said Lemuel.
