O'LYN Roofing Donates to Hurricane Relief Fund
Norwood, MA, September 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- O’LYN Roofing is proud to announce that it has donated $1,000 dollars to hurricane relief via the Owens Corning Hurricane Relief Fund.
Earlier this week, O’LYN was notified of an opportunity to contribute to the aid effort for Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and as a company who deals directly with repairing people’s homes after storms, they jumped at the chance.
Owens Corning, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, is offering its clients a unique way to help the hurricane-damaged communities re-build. They are allowing their clients to take the funds in their OC accounts and transfer them as a one-time donation to the Owens Corning Foundation. The Foundation will then match all money given by the OC Roofing Contractor Network, up to a collective total of $100,000. Every dollar given will go directly and immediately to Habitat for Humanity International.
“It may have been a few years since we’ve had a big hurricane up here [in Massachusetts], but that doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten about the destruction they can cause,” O’LYN President Linda Olen said. “We are honored that we get an opportunity to help these communities in their rebuilding efforts.” O’LYN was able to donate $1,000 to the Owens Corning Fund and while that may pale in comparison to J.J. Watt’s $37 Million, everyone with first-hand hurricane experience knows that every little bit helps and there is no amount too small.
Hurricanes and their subsequent wreckage can be absolutely devastating, but it is always heartwarming to see how people come together to support those in their time of need. The roofing industry in particular is coming up big; as stated in an article from Roofing Contractor “[Roofers] from around Texas and beyond are pitching in with financial pledges, donating equipment and actively participating in rescue and relief operations.” O’LYN’s owner and founder, Michael Olen says, “It’s great to see the roofing community come together to help out those affected and we are just grateful to be some small part of the relief effort.”
