PR.com)-- Entrepreneurial brothers Brad and Evan Bailyn have recently decided to use some of the revenue accumulated from their various business ventures to give back to the community by establishing an artist’s fund called the Bailyn Trust. The fund, which will consist of numerous smaller trusts ranging in value from a few hundred to thousands of dollars, will be awarded to outstanding emerging artists who require financial aid to realize their creative vision.
The brothers are best known for the popular tween networking site Cartoon Doll Emporium and the Penn Group, a business that specializes in ghostwriting, and they also run the website sculptor.org, the oldest and largest online sculptor gallery. It was this site that inspired the brothers to become interested in starting a fund.
“We created sculptor.org because we have always had a great respect for the visual arts. But while dealing with artists on the site we realized that a lot of them really need financial assistance, and we saw an opportunity to help out,” said Brad.
The brothers will be collaborating with sculptors from the website to connect with artists who could benefit from the trust.
“We considered having a sort of open call where people could just apply, but we decided that we’d rather start by getting input from people in the art community to kind of filter our applicants. As the project grows we might change that policy, but for now we think it’s best to draw from a controlled pool,” says Evan.
The fund will be divided into multiple trusts of varying amounts, which the brothers hope to have distributed by late next year.
