Laguna Beach, CA, March 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- This coming April, the Portrait Society of America will host its 10th annual Art of the Portrait Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Highlighting the conference will be the 2008 Portrait Competition, to be held at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel, April 10 – 13, 2008.

Portrait and figurative artist Joseph Todorovitch has been selected as one of the twenty finalists for his outstanding painting “Kristin”. This magnificent 60 x 48 inch, oil on linen painting will be judged alongside the works of 19 other internationally noted artists. This is Todorovitch’s first ever entry to this very prestigious event, where over 1,200 artists from around the world compete for awards and prizes including the notable Draper Grand Prize.

Past winners of this award include: Glenn Harrington – 2007; Vasudeo Taranath Kamath (India) – 2006; Romulo Galicano (Philippines) – 2005; and Laura Clark – 2004. Other notable participants include outstanding artists – Adrian Gottlieb, Joseph Daily, Jeremy Lipking, Tae Rhea, Steve Craighead and Robert Liberace.
