Boca Raton, FL, March 20, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television is working to create a nation-wide program on the "future of ethanol" for Public Television. In this series The Renewable Fuels Association will play a large part. Their mission is to educate policy makers and the public on the role that ethanol has on the fuel business today and the impact for the future. In 2006, the industry supported 160,000 U.S. jobs and reduced the need for oil imports by 206 million barrels. In this program we will illustrate the many attributes that ethanol plays in today’s global economy. Senior Producer, Mr. Christian Kelch, said, “The growing production and use of ethanol is helping to displace gasoline demand and reduce prices at the pump.” Producer Lorraine Mucci said, “Ethanol production increased 130,000 barrels per day in 2007 compared to 2006. That is the equivalent of the gasoline output of one medium-sized oil refinery. The RFA estimates that the U.S. ethanol industry produced 6.5 billion gallons of ethanol in 2007. That is a rate of approximately 425,000 barrels per day. We need consumers, who are impacted by this, to be educated on these important issues, and that is goal of this nation-wide program and series.”
