Vision Media Television Segment on "America Red, White and Green" and Sustainable Buildings
Boca Raton, FL, March 20, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television is producing an environmental series for Public Television called “America – Red, White and Green.” This series will cover a number of segments, including a program on the "green building" movement. Not only has the residential market started turning "green", but we are starting to see advancements being made in Universities as well. Concordia Language Villages is an educational phenomenon in Bemidji, Minnesota. The mission of the Villages is to prepare young people to be responsible citizens in our global community. The newest village called Biohause has been constructed to be completely sustainable, down to recycling rain water for future use. Mr. Christian Kelch, the senior producer at Vision Media TV, said, “In addition to several summer sites at various locations, Concordia Language Villages has six year-round Villages in Minnesota that feature culturally authentic architecture. The mission of the program is to inform adults, or parents, about how the Villages prepare young people for responsible citizenship in our global community.” Martin Graefe, director of the BioHaus, said, “The BioHaus is another example of the cutting edge educational programming offered by the Language Villages. This environmental living center allows us to not only expose program participants to another critical component of the German culture, it also allows us to deepen our focus on environmental studies." Lorraine Mucci, producer of the series, said, “The University is culturally diverse. Every summer 6000 kids come from around the world to live in architecturally faithful villages which are built completely sustainable, and that is the focus of our segment for this series.”
