Vision Media Television Segment for the National Medical Report on Plastic Surgery
Boca Raton, FL, March 26, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television is currently in the production stages to launch a nation-wide program on “Plastic Surgery.” Plastic Surgery is a medical specialty that uses a number of surgical and nonsurgical techniques to change the appearance and function of a person's body. In 2007 Cosmetic Plastic Surgery spending increased by 9 percent to $12.4 billion. The numbers of surgical cosmetic procedures remained the same from the previous year, with more than 1.8 million procedures performed in 2006. Top surgical procedures were breast augmentation, liposuction, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery and tummy tuck. Senior Producer Mr. Christian Kelch said, “Issues surrounding Plastic Surgery are becoming increasingly popular and are quickly taking the media by storm. In this program we will demonstrate the importance of using a qualified and credible surgeon. With so much malpractice occurring in the medical industry on related issues, the first step is to raise the awareness on this important issue for national education.” Dr. Matthew McMahon, VP of Programming for the series, said, “Since plastic surgery procedures include both cosmetic enhancements as well as functionally reconstructive operations, it is not enough to simply educate the consumer on the appearance related issues, but also on the functional aspects of transforming the quality of life for patients such as burn victims, or those that have debilitating birth defects.” Sub specialties in the Plastic Surgery field include craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, burn surgery and pediatric plastic surgery.
In this series a number of health related topics will be demonstrated as part of the award winning production house documentary series, “The National Medical Report.” For more information go to http://www.visionmediatelevision.com
