Vision Media Television Segment for the National Environmental Report on Biofuels
Boca Raton, FL, March 26, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television has completed a new documentary segment for nation-wide distribution on “BioFuels”. Biofuels are produced from living organisms or from metabolic by-products. In order for a renewable fuel to be considered a “biofuel” the fuel must contain over 80% renewable materials. It is originally derived from the photosynthesis process and can therefore often be referred to as a solar energy source. Linda Shields, producer for this segment, said, “The word biofuel covers a wide range of products. Some of these products are commercially available today and some of them are still in research and development. We want to highlight a broad range of biofuels in our series.”
Biofuels are emerging from oil, cheese, bacteria, mushrooms, sugar and other organic sources. New energy sources of these kinds are emerging everyday and research and development into them is on the rise. Biofuels are said to have such benefits as a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction of fossil fuel use, increased national energy security, increased rural development and a sustainable fuel supply for the future. As the UN Commission on Sustainable Development stated in their “Sustainable Bioenergy” position paper, biofuels need to emerge into a “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.” International attention to the industry continues to grow, and the basis for this documentary segment is to bring both national and international education to consumers who are being affected by renewable energy concerns.
