Boca Raton, FL, March 26, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television has completed a new documentary segment for nation-wide distribution on “Autism” with Anderson Center for Autism. Autism is a developmental disorder of the human brain that begins to give signs during infancy or childhood. Oftentimes it follows a steady course without remission or relapse into adulthood. Impairments result from maturation-related changes in various systems of the brain and is characterized by widespread abnormalities of social interactions and communication, severely restricted interests and highly repetitive behavior.
Anderson Center for Autism is a very special organization where they provide specialty service for the full autism spectrum. Neil J. Pollack, Executive Director and C.E.O. states, “We are committed to enhancing the quality of life and provide many unique opportunities through our LIFELONG LEARNING℠ model built upon the foundation of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Supports within our commitment to evidence-based services.”
Anderson Center has completed the construction of a new state-of-the-art school, built new campus replacement homes, and upgraded several support service buildings, roadways and playgrounds in order to better serve those families that are affected by Autism. Pollack states, “We expect that the Anderson Village, designed specifically to meet the needs of our children, will be finished by the end of this decade. We are also proud of the major expansion of our community adult homes and day programs. Our newest endeavor is developing the Anderson Community Support Network serving the broader autism community through a variety of new service options for all ages, as part of the continuum of services throughout the United States.”
Anderson Center for Autism is in the elite group of agencies held in high regard as a residential school service provider for people on the autism spectrum serving children and adults from throughout New York State. Since being founded by Dr. V.V. Anderson in 1924, their growth and leadership in the field has been significant. Keeping with their mission, they have recently changed their name from Anderson School to Anderson Center for Autism.
John Vazaios, senior producer for this segment, said, “My hope is that this documentary segment can help in educating people on the mission of Anderson Center towards empowering families and helping children on the topic of autism. The series is not simply about intellectual education, but heartfelt appreciation for what Anderson Center for Autism is committed to in accomplishing a better quality of life with these special people.”
