Vision Media Television Launches a New Segment on Solar Power for the National Environmental Report Hosted by Mr. Hugh Downs
Boca Raton, FL, March 27, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- Vision Media Television is currently distributing a nation-wide program on “Solar Power” for second quarter viewing. The program will focus on solar energy and how that energy is harvested from our Sun. The sun drives the climate and weather while supporting practically all life on Earth. Heat and light from the sun, along with solar-based resources such as wind power, wave power, hydroelectricity and biomass, account for most of the available flow of renewable energy that is being harvested today. Cathy Proctor, producer for the program, said, “Solar energy and the technology that harvests that energy for practical use provides power for heating, lighting, electricity and even flight. Solar power is not for science fiction anymore. Rather, it’s for everyday practical use, right down to the way our street lights work at night.”
Solar power is often used synonymously with solar energy. Energy is the fundamental building block of powering up cities, communities and homes in various ways that allows communities to function. Harnessing new and innovative ways of keeping essential aspects of culture running (like hospitals, gasoline stations during hurricanes, and grocery stores during a blackout) are important provisions that renewable energy must address. Christian Kelch, senior producer for the segment stated, “Solar electric power systems and products, for example, offer high quality, reliable power generation technology for residential, commercial and industrial applications. By partnering with the sun, solar energy can supply local power for a variety of applications that trickle down to the consumer; from improving air emissions, to heating homes, and even keeping a life support system running during a blizzard or snowstorm.”
In this segment the National Environmental Report will cover these concepts and more, in order to educate the consumer on exciting new and innovative ways of building up our nation’s power sources.
