Opening Night of the 1st Int'l San Joaquin Film Festival at Bob Hope Theatre and Hotel Stockton, Featuring "Nonna's Trip," "The Clown and the Fuhrer," and Rooftop Party

Stockton, CA, April 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- San Joaquin Cross-Cultural Media (SJCCM) is proud to announce three exciting events of the Opening Night Gala of its First International San Joaquin Film Festival, to be held on June 4th, 2008, at the historic Bob Hope (Fox) Theatre and Hotel Stockton.

At 5:45PM, start the Gala with a Pre-Show entertainment of a visual arts exhibition and performances by dance artists, complete with scrumptious treats from Downtown restaurants in the theatre's foyer, co-hosted by Downtown Stockton Alliance.

At 6:45PM, enter the historic theatre for the Gala program, featuring the Opening Ceremonies and the screening of the first film, Sebastian Silva's Mexican-released "Nonna's Trip / El Viaje de La Nonna," (2007) a narrative feature about a grandmother's last wish to visit Italy with her family. The film is described as "a charmingly funny, ultimately touching story of a family united by love for their grandmother."

After the film, at 8:45PM, patrons are invited to the rooftop terrace of the historic Hotel Stockton, for the "With the Stars" Opening Night Party (catered by the new Paragary's Restaurant) - a night of glitz, glamour and live jazz. Admission includes gourmet hors d'oeuvres and two drink tickets.

Patrons also have the option of remaining at the theatre for the 9:00PM screening of the second film, Eduard Cortés' award-winning "The Clown and the Führer / El Pallasso i el Führer," (2007) a fascinating drama from Spain about world-famous clown Charlie Rivel's decision to perform for Hilter's birthday, and a planned attack that could change the history of mankind.
"Nonna's Trip" (Spanish) and "The Clown and the Führer" (Catalan) will be presented with English sub-titles.

Admission: Gala, with Pre-Show and "Nonna's Trip" for $14.00 or $10.00 (senior and student); "With the Stars" Party at Hotel Stockton for $49.00; "The Clown and the Führer" for $10.00 or $7.00 (senior and student.)
