Komen Triangle Race for the Cure, an annual Triangle-based fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. The race, now in its 12th year, will be held on Saturday, June 14 on the campus of Meredith College, located at 3800 Hillsborough St. Race entry fees, pledge donations and sponsorship proceeds will all benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, ensure quality care for all and drive research towards a cure.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, originating as a promise that Nancy G. Brinker made to her sister Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36, is now the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. The North Carolina Triangle Race for the Cure attracted more than 22,000 participants in 2007 and has raised more than $7 million to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
