PR.com)-- San Joaquin Cross-Cultural Media (SJCCM) is proud to announce the nominated films of the 2008 San Joaquin Film Festival Awards. Winners will be selected by a dynamic jury of nine community advocates, artists, and industry professionals, and will be honored at the 1st International San Joaquin Film Festival Finale and Awards Gala on June 8, 2008 at 6:30PM, at Faye Spanos Concert Hall at University of the Pacific (Pacific). A Pre-Finale Reception will be held at 4:45PM at the President's Room at Pacific.

About the 1st International San Joaquin Film Festival
Regarded by the California Travel & Tourism Commission among its new and exciting events of Spring 2008, the 1st International San Joaquin Film Festival (SJFF08), a project of San Joaquin Cross-Cultural Media (SJCCM), will open in the multi-cultural city of Stockton, California, U.S.A. from June 4 to June 8, 2008 as the region's first, global film festival, featuring: 54 films from 18 nations; 35 events of screenings, galas, forums, and cultural arts programs in six venues; and the presence of filmmakers and film lovers from near and far. Cinema spotlights include Latino and Israeli films. "Making History" is the theme of SJFF08, with films highlighting stories of human migration, human rights, and coming-of-age.
