Allegro Dance Company Offers Workshops to Schools

Allegro Dance Company will be offering new programs and workshops for schools and colleges.

Wheeling, WV, April 04, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Allegro Dance Company will be offering performances and workshops to schools and colleges throughout the country to educate more audiences about Italian culture & dance.

Allegro was established in 1994 by Anna Pishner Harsh out of love for her Italian-American heritage. Anna holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Dance from Slippery Rock University and is currently a graduate student at West Virginia University. Anna trains the dancers to be proficent through technique classes as well as yoga and Pilates classes.  Her award-winning work has been showcased recently in Columbus Ohio, Pittsburgh Pa and Charleston WV.

The company has traveled throughout the US and Italy performing and teaching about the art of dance. Their shows are educational and entertaining to watch as the dancers take the audience on a historical journey throughout  Italy without ever leaving their seat. The company offers lecture demonstrations, dance workshops and presentations to schools, universities and community groups using various forms of dance and music to create a festive atmosphere where the audience can participate and get an inside look into this rich and intriquing culture. 

Some recent performances and appearances include: Wheeling Jesuit University, Point Park University, Bloomfield, Pa Little Day's of Italy festival and Notre Dame High School.  Allegro will showcase their latest work "Carpe Diem" this summer at Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival in July and West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival in September.
