Seattle, WA, August 01, 2008 --(
PR.com)-- The International Fund for Animal Welfare, a charity partner of The Animal Rescue Site (www.theanimalrescuesite.com), works with concerned citizens and animal rescue efforts around the world. Since 1996, IFAW has supported the work of Professor Valentin Pazhetnov to save orphaned bear cubs in Russia.
Each year, bear cubs are left orphaned as a result of the winter bear hunt in Russia. Cubs are born bald, toothless, and blind, and depend on their mothers for at least two seasons; alone, they have no chance of survival. Professor Pazhetnov has successfully nurtured and released more than a hundred such orphaned bears back into the wild.
Professor Pazhetnov and his family bottle-feed and care for the orphaned bear cubs at the Clean Forest Biological Station 350 kilometers northwest of Moscow. When the bears are old enough, they are fed once a day, then left to wander the forest freely and forage for themselves, reducing their dependency on humans.
Working with IFAW, The Animal Rescue Site has created a Gift That Gives More™ to aid Professor Pazehtnov and his family in preparing these orphaned cubs for successful reintroduction into the wild. One $50 “Rescue Orphaned Bear Cubs” Gift That Gives More™ provides three days’ worth of care.

More on The Animal Rescue Site And Click to Give™
Celebrating its sixth anniversary in July, The Animal Rescue Site provides funding to animal rescue charities through three important channels: the company’s innovative Click to Give™ program, direct donations through such site programs as Gifts That Give More™, and contributions paid for by items sold through The Animal Rescue Site’s store.
Petfinder.com Foundation, the Fund for Animals, and the North Shore Animal League are all beneficiaries of the Animal Rescue Site’s Click to Give™ program.
The Click to Give™ program allows visitors to The Animal Rescue Site to provide food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary by simply clicking on the purple button located at the top of the homepage (www.theanimalrescuesite.com). The Click to Give™ program on the site’s homepage is paid for by advertisers, and 100% of this ad revenue goes directly to support the work of the charities listed on the site. In 2007, clicks on The Animal Rescue Site funded the value of more than 42 million bowls of food for animals in need.
The totals of the 2008 Click to Give™ program are posted on The Animal Rescue Site’s results page and are updated daily.
