Dear Bob,

I just wanted to thank you for the way I have been treated by you and associates from KwikKerb. The answers to my questions were answered in a very timely and satisfying manner. KwikKerb has a great training program. The three-day training is just right. All my doubts and butterflies in my stomach left by the third day.

You have been very responsive any time I have called for assistance and at no time did you make me feel I was asking a dumb question. I felt the people at KwikKerb are always ready and willing to help any dealer at anytime. I left Orlando, FL knowing KwikKerb stands behind their dealers and want them to succeed. One of the things I was most impressed about was the fact that the Chief Operating Officer of the company was out there teaching the class and getting dirty right along with the new dealers. He could have very easily had anybody else in his staff do it for him. That to me, tells me a lot about the caliber of the organization.

Bob, I just want to thank you and the KwikKerb organization again for the outstanding support and attention I have received.

Sincerely,

Jose Collazo

Dear Sirs,

This letter is to speak on behalf of Mr. Gordon Buckland and his staff concerning our recent on-site training for Kwik Kerb in Orlando, Florida.

Without a doubt, this experience, designed to help new operators, was efficient and effective and easily reached its objectives. The participant leaves having been "set up" for success by being confronted with production problems more difficult than those of a typical job. Having used the Edgemaster equipment and having participated in each production step to lay successful curb, all participants go home with the confidence their new business will be successful if they practice what they learned.

Gordon is a talented teacher with years of experience as a "kerber". His business leadership and model attitude are the keys to success here in the United States. Additionally, the Edgetec marketing staff all displayed the same energy and integrity that Gordon did each moment in front of our group.

The training was fun, interesting, challenging, realistic and affordable. I can’t imagine starting a Kwik Kerb project without understanding the expertise within the company that brought us up to this point.

Sincerely,

Charles T. Gilbert

Kwik Kerb provides you with the means to be the master of your own destiny!

Dear Kwik Kerb:

I was somewhat skeptical of venturing into my own business, especially one I knew nothing about. I have always had an interest in landscaping, but landscapers are a dime a dozen in my area. I was on a trip in New Orleans when I came across landscape edging and I immediately knew I wanted to get into that business. I did a lot of research and came across Kwik Kerb. My search was over.

Kwik Kerb was by far the most attractive company in the business. Let me tell you this, one word describes their personnel; Professional. It took me eight months to make up my mind and my salesman, Bob Leighton, was with me every step of the way. I really can’t say enough good things about the way he helped me understand the Kwik Kerb business. Not only do the people at Kwik Kerb want you to have a good understanding of the industry, they want you to succeed in this industry.

I took my first step toward success by choosing Kwik Kerb. The training was the next step. From hands-on, on-site training, laying the curb from start to finish, to hours of classroom marketing strategies, I left there knowing I was going to make a lot of money in this business and I am! (thank you Gordon). I was scared at first, now I’m confident. I didn’t know a trade and now I’m a Kwik Kerb operator. Kwik Kerb made that possible. I’m now doing jobs that are 400, 500, even as big as 700 feet. If not for the intense marketing class, I may not have made it past the customer’s doorstep.

Like I said before, my first step toward success was choosing Kwik Kerb. Thanks!

When I first looked at Kwik Kerb as a possible source for extra income and a way to keep my self occupied when I retire at age 50. I looked at every franchise opportunity that I could find. I found Kwik Kerb and learned that there are no royalty payments, I can pick up, move, and work where ever I wanted, have full technical support, and a professional established name behind me I stopped looking and invested in my future. Peter and his staff run an excellent training program and no questions went unanswered. And I had a lot. Right from formulating a business plan to installing kerb and all the tricks of the trade that go with it.

I am now in my fourth year of operation and still can’t believe that on one job I can make more money in one day than I can working all week for someone else. Sure there are other curb companies out there, but none of them support and promote their operators as well as Kwik Kerb does. Thank you Peter and Chick for making my future a lot brighter.

Best Regards,

Kwik Kerb will help you profit from a proven system!

Dear Gordon,

Just a note to let you know how I am doing up here in Minnesota. The season for working with concrete on the ground here is about six months; May through October, so I need to squeeze as much in as possible during that time. Especially since my Kwik Kerb business is my sole source of income. After being "downsized" out of my marketing position, I took my severance pay and bought the Kwik Kerb business. Thanks for the great training course in Orlando, and all the support you and the Edgetec crew have provided since then! Things that were a challenge during the training now seem routine.

My strategy is probably a little different than many new Kwik Kerbers. I am planning to build a larger full time business rather than a small part time business. After going through several temporary workers from an agency, I now have a crew of three well-trained and experienced curb installers that are my employees. I do the advertising, scheduling, and administration, and my crew does the actual curb installations. I pay them by the job.

Even though I am still struggling to get established in the area, I have installed about 8,500 feet of curb, and grossed about $50,000 in my first three months. All of our jobs have been residential, with the average job being about 250 feet. We can easily do 300+ feet in one day. I just quoted a townhouse complex with almost 4,000 ft! I have also purchased a second used unit, which is still on its way here. My goal is have three to five crews working full time, six months a year.

In order to get a fast start, I have spent more than I originally planned on advertising. I have a TV commercial, a web site, as well as shows, yellow pages, flyers, and newspaper ads. The most productive advertising has proven to be door-to-door flyers, and relationships with a few selected landscapers. The business is slowly becoming a word-of-mouth business, and I am tapering off on the expensive ads. After one job in a new neighborhood, I immediately quoted four others, and expect to have 3 to 4 installations on that one block! This is after my competitor had already completed two in that neighborhood! Thanks again to you, Thomas, and Bob for all the help. My questions and problems have been addressed immediately and accurately.

Cheers!

Dear Peter,

I am writing to let you know of the "extraordinary" help we received from Derek and Leslie Pleshcan.

As you know we were in training together in Vancouver, we remained in contact through the summer exchanging ideas for marketing and sharing stories of our experiences, (good and bad) as we gained confidence in our product. As always Derek and Leslie were there to help in anyway they could, (ideas, encouragement, etc.) especially at our Southern Ideal Home Show this past fall held here in South Carolina, They flew down at their own expense, and time away from their new business and full time jobs to help. It was a four-day event, with exposure to 23,000 plus in attendance. Derek’s BS Degree proved invaluable in helping to get names for us to follow up on. He also convinced me to change my presentation, and with good results.

We may only have had 56 names to call but most were confirmed customers with sales nearly $11,000.00 in October and almost $7,000.00 in November. Some quotes that were given customers will be ready to do next spring.

Since we had all this work lined up Derek again flew down 3 weeks in a row to help us through.

But, anyway I just want to let you know about their efforts to help us - It’s truly amazing.

Sincerely,

Glenn and Judy Klingensmith

Success is no accident. Kwik Kerb looks after its entire family of Kerbers!

Dear Kwik Kerb:

Sorry we have not written you sooner, but we have been really busy with the new business. We would like to take the time to thank-you for all your assistance and guidance in helping us get our business up and running. It has been a genuine pleasure dealing with your establishment over the past few months.

I drive a truck full-time during the week and my wife has an accounting practice which she operates full time. We have both been looking for a new venture to get into for quite some time, but nothing seemed to feel just right for us. When we came across the Kwik Kerb literature on the internet, we immediately knew we had found just the right business for us. Initially, of course, we had our apprehensions. Could we make the business profitable, could we handle the workmanship, and were we dealing with the right dealer?????? We spent many nights on the internet researching the industry, and found a lot of competitors to Kwik Kerb (some cheaper, some more expensive). From the beginning, we knew we were going to get into Kerbing, but we didn’t know with which dealership. Gratefully, after much research and stress, we made our decision to go with Kwik Kerb and have not at any moment regretted this decision.

From the beginning the people at Kwik Kerb have been extremely helpful with ALL of our needs and concerns. We were aided by Kwik Kerb in the initial dealings with our bank to obtain a loan, and were assisted in every way during closing of the deal. But most importantly, after finalizing the deal, Kwik Kerb has been a constant source of help and knowledge to us. They did not just get us to buy then throw us to the wolves.

Within two weeks of purchasing our business, we were flown down for training and set up at a local home show upon our return, all arrangements made by Kwik Kerb. We both had serious concerns; could we do a professional job after our training? We discovered that we could. The training session was very knowledgeable and in depth. We immediately were able to present our product to the public and feel confident that we could stand behind the quality of our work.

As our business is progressing, we occasionally have technical questions or concerns that arise. Kwik Kerb has remained very loyal and helpful to us, quickly responding and aiding with any problems or questions.

Sincerely,

Joe Alley, Vice-president and Owner

Dear Kwik Kerb

In January of 2003, my business associate (Gary Valentine) and I attended our Kwik Kerb training in Orlando , FL. We wanted to write this letter to thank the entire Kwik Kerb group for the excellent assistance they gave us in starting our new business.

Bob Leighton has continued to be a helpful source for all of our questions. He never hesitates to provide us answers, and we have asked him MANY questions! Bob is the main reason that Gary and I are on board with Kwik Kerb. When we were investigating the company, he took time out of his schedule on a regular basis to assure that we were completely knowledgeable about the Kwik Kerb product, company and philosophy.

Gordon Buckland was our trainer while we were in Orlando and educated us on the actual curbing process. It was a pleasure to have some of his vast knowledge of the product taught to us. We were most impressed with the fact that Gordon (and Bob) are both willing to continue to be of assistance to us now that we have purchased the business. Both have answered phone calls and e-mails from us, and the entire company is sincerely interested in helping our business get off the ground.

I commend Kwik Kerb for having associates such as Bob and Gordon. They know the business, and are passionate about the Kwik Kerb product. It is clear they enjoy helping individuals like Gary and myself start their own businesses and excelling in it. Gary and I look forward to becoming excellent operators and adding value to the Kwik Kerb company name!

Sincerely,

David Krug Gary Valentine

Dear Gordon:

It has been approximately two months since I was back training to become a Kwik Kerb operator. It seems like years ago. A lot has transpired in the last sixty days. I have trained, with Tom’s help, two operators. Both are capable of installing a great curb. Everyday is a new adventure but they can load up in the morning with instructions and get the job done. Last week I was at a Garden and Flower Show from morning to night. The guys did 4 homes without my personal involvement. It felt good that the work went on without my physical presence.

As you know my only reservation about the curbing business was how well it would be received in a new market. It did not take long to overcome that reservation. The Cincinnati Market has a accepted the product with enthusiasm. In a trade show last week I had at least 300 people take the brochure and say they wanted the product. My close ratio on estimates is running about 70 percent.

The task now is to gain efficiency. We are producing about 150 feet per day at an average fee of $8.00 per foot. That is approximately $6,000.00 a week in revenue. I think we can get to $8,000.00 a week and more with a pick up in efficiency and better selection of jobs. At that point I will be ordering another equipment package.

I want to thank you and your entire staff for preparing me to start this business. I certainly would not want to have started this alone.

Sincerely,

John Dobbs
