Impressed with Ravens' Sportexe Surface, National Lacrosse Champions Select Sportexe Advanced Synthetic Field Systems for Both Home and Practice Facilities

The 2005 NCAA Division I Championship lacrosse team has started the 2005-06 year off on new high technology turf - the same system underfoot of the Baltimore Ravens.

Johns Hopkins' Blue Jays, impressed with the pro team's Momentum field at M&T Bank Stadium, had two Sportexe systems installed in summer, 2005. One will serve as the team's home field, which has, in past, hosted numerous prominent lacrosse events, including national championship and world lacrosse games.

The second field will be used for practice and for the school's other diverse athletic and recreational needs.

According to Bill Harrington, senior associate director of athletics and recreation at Johns Hopkins University, the school is pleased with its new systems and their installation:

"We were impressed with the safety and performance of the field at M&T Stadium - the team practiced on it and liked it. Throughout the research process - site visits, etc. - and into the bid process, Sportexe continued to be our preference.

"Our biggest concern was installation. We were pleased with both Sportexe and Sports Construction Group (sports construction specialist)."

In addition to being chosen by the nation's top Division I lacrosse team, Sportexe turf products have been selected by numerous other prominent teams in the region, including the Buffalo Bills, St. John Fisher College, the University of Vermont, the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Boys Latin School of Maryland.
