I reside in Ottawa, Ontario, home of the "on-strike Senators hockey team," the city that experiences the four seasons in less than 24 hours and offers up Canukian delicacies such as "poutine" and "beaver tails." My rambunctious large Italian family provides a lot of fodder for my writing. As does my husband and my boomerang son. After two years of empty nesting, my baby boy has bommeranged home for a few months, until his new home is built.
My first book, "Sabrina's Destiny," a romantic comedy with paranormal elements, in the form of a couple of tres cool angels, is published with Treble Heart Books. Sabrina's Destiny garnered the attention of a reputable New York agent, who now represents me. You can read an interview with my agent on the "Interview Page." My agent is now patiently awaiting my second book, "Her Bodyguards Secret," a romantic suspense.
I've written and published several childrens books, short stories and non fiction articles in the past. "There's a party going on in your head, and someday I'd love to attend."
This is how my husband David sums up his perception of me. David is my soul mate. He is right (it happens when he's actually on target with me), I do have a host of people living inside my head rent-free, and yes, they love to party! Sometimes they just laze around and I have to shake them up a bit. I''ve always had an enthusiastic love for reading and writing. I have a fascination with romance, life's quirky happenings, feisty characters, and with people who fly by the seat of their pants without a safety net. (Sounds autobiographical, but I swear, I never write my heroines like me).
I'm the quirky outgoing side of David, and he's my laid back, soft spoken, calm side of me. David is a gold medal author's spouse. He knows how to cook a mean boneless chicken breast, has very broad shoulders, probably owns shares at the Godiva factory (especially when I have to write a synopsis), and doesn't complain about my dust collection.
Not only has my publishing dream come true, but I get to share my love of writing and talking about books with some great people who love the written word as much as I do. I am currently working on a romantic suspense, "Her Bodyguard's Secret." Check back to this site, as I will be posting excerpts from this book at a later date. I don't want to send out a search party. Come back often!
Warning regarding Her Bodyguard's Secret -- It is very very different from Sabrina. A little steamier. Okay, as hot as a chewed jalepeno. I am a prolific reader, and my eclectic tastes has spilled into my writing, as I enjoy writing both comedy and suspsense. I also have a sexy-romantic-comedy, featuring everyone's favorite quirky heroine, "Maddie," that is waiting to be sent out (as soon as the polishing is done) and of course I am going to write a sequel to Sabrina's Destiny.
