Avalanche Ranch Light Company is a family owned lighting manufacturing company with an 10 year history of making the highest quality, rustic lights available today for a lodge-style or Craftsman-Style decor. We now have over 1,500 different lights in over 250 design styles. Throughout these designs, you will find Lodge-styled lights, which are inspired by nature themes; and you will find Craftsmen-styled lights, which are inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement made popular by Gustav Stickley after the turn of the 20th century-a movement that was fueled by a popular return to the great outdoors. Both of these style aesthetics reflect the visual patterns found in nature, thus creating a look that fosters a harmony between the interior and natural exterior of your home.

We value the importance of this harmony in lighting the home and it is the foundation of all our lighting designs here at Avalanche Ranch Light Company.

Company History

Avalanche Ranch Light Company grew out of the founder’s desire to light up his lake cabin in 1995. Not able to find suitably rustic style lights at a local lighting store, he created the first light that later became the first product for a small company known as Avalanche Ranch. In 1997, Avalanche Ranch was moved to Bellingham, Washington and began manufacturing hand-crafted rustic lighting out of steel. Today, the Company employs over 25 people in a 24,000 square foot Craftory, bringing together a unique combination of art and application of the modern production techniques to make one of a kind products.

All of our lights are thoughtfully designed for maximum functionality, durability, ease of installation, and care. Each light meets or exceeds the standards and requirements of the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc (UL). Our desire is to provide lighting products for our customers whose lifestyles reflect their love for the outdoors. We’re creating designs that meet the needs of home owners from border-to-border, and mountains to oceans.

In September 2007, Avalanche Ranch Light Company merged all four of its product lines and put them under one brand name: Avalanche Ranch Light Company. Our lighting line now consists of over 1,500 unique styles. For convenience and continuity, we have maintained the four product lines in four broad product collections, each of which share similar artwork and other design elements. These collections are as follows:

Avalanche Ranch Collection:
The Avalanche Gallery includes the original lighting line of the Company and the designs those original lights inspired. The lights in the Avalanche Collection are unique from the other product lines of the Company in that they have a more three-dimensional, structured quality about them. They require the most handiwork in that the patina is hand applied, the bark paper is handmade and metal-working is extensive.

Cedar Valley Collection:
In the tradition of Avalanche Ranch, this gallery carries the same distinctive rustic theme celebrating the outdoors with tree and animal motifs, but the artwork is simpler and the designs are easier to make. Fixture prices reflect this.

Mountain Ranch Collection:
The Mountain gallery were first introduced in 2002 as a alternative to the styling of the Avalanche Gallery. The artwork differs than that of the Avalanche Gallery in that most designs are two-dimensional with almond or amber colored mica setting off the art. All of the Mountain lights are powder coated; hand-applied patina is generally not an option.

Craftsman Gallery Collection:
In the Craftsman Gallery, we have created some mainstream lighting designs and incorporated a decorative insert. There are over 12 different works of art for this line shown below, as well as offering customizations to replace the line art, giving customers a wide range of options at an affordable price. Each light has a Bronze Metallic finish with Craftsman Glass, which has a beige amber swirl texture throughout.
