Brooklyn Collective

Brooklyn Collective

Brooklyn Collective was established in response to the need for a space where craftsmen can showcase their work free from the pressures of mass-market retail. Through a cooperative effort, the collective seeks to push the boundaries of art and design, offering the public a unique view into what designers are capable of when they are given creative freedom.

Frustrated by the lack of interesting and unique designs being offered in today's marketplace, Brooklyn Collective founders Rachel Goldberg (jewelry design) and Tessa Phillips (fashion) decided to go it on their own. All too familiar with the job of censoring their own work in order to make their wares saleable to uptight shops, the collective was designed to offer artists an affordable place to display and sell their creations.

Located in the up and coming neighborhood along the Columbia Street waterfront, Brooklyn Collective's artisan gallery currently houses designers whose work ranges from the elegant to the obscure. More than just a shop, all the members share the rent and keep 100% percent of their profits.
