Craveyon Malbec no.6 2013
Craveyon's Malbec was grown and vinted in Paso Robles, California where the slightly cooler climate nurtured aromas of leather, cocoa, and black cherry. The classic Malbec tell of a bright magenta rim sits atop this carmine-colored wine. Craveyon's Malbec complements dishes of dark, leaner meats like buffalo or duck. Mushrooms, cumin and serious cheeses like Roquefort, Iberico or Taleggio pair nicely.
Malbec doesn't like the cold and was nearly wiped out in France during a 1956 frost. Yearning for warmer, comfier surroundings Malbec eventually found a new home in the warm, inviting climes of Argentina. Over 75% of the world's planted Malbec vines are there where the warm South American sun brings out a soft juicy plum flavor.
