The Lab’s mandates and missions are:
• Fox Media Lab studies commercialization of meshed communications modes: Distributed media forms, technical applications, ergo, Satellitic, WiFi, IP, Mobile, GPS, Ham, FRS, Radio, TV, Emergency Frequencies, and inter-home, unwired and wired, including fiber.
• Incubates commercially viable, asset based media networks. Reports findings &/or offerings. Many of these will be for the public good, and may be funded through grants or self-sustaining, i.e. EmergencyFrequency.net, EmergencyAlert.US, rescuesearch.net, saveswater.net, savesenergy.net, etc.
• Study of digital content, and the platforms they are carried on, and they way it is consumed and in turn the devices, software, unique deliveries and user interfaces, e.g. MMRP, P2P, Social, Portal, gaming, etc.
• Long Term: Commercial saturations and their effect on us. Study of frequencies and their effect on us. Technically advanced laboratory. Endowment.
